Margaret L. (Read) Silvan

Margaret L. (Read) Silvan, 99, of Fall River, formerly of Berkley, died Monday, November 14, 2011 at Catholic Memorial Home. She joins her beloved husband, Eino H. Silvan (1912-1988), with whom she shared a deep and lasting love for over fifty years. She is survived by daughters, Margaret S. Casey and her husband Daniel of San Francisco,CA, and Linda L. Hutchison of Berkley; grandchildren, Linda A. Hutchison of Fall River, Thomas Hutchison of Berkley, Christine Casey of San Francisco,CA, Daniel Casey, III of Sacramento,CA, Lisa Casey of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, James Hutchison of Berkley; Brittany Brewer and Taylor Brewer both of Taunton, great-great grandchildren, Layla Bell and Thalia Brewer-Sanchez both of Taunton; a sister, Lillian Cerce of FL; many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Moran) Read and stepdaughter of the late Mabel Read; and the sister of the late Francis, Joseph, Louis, and Raymond Read, Mary Vaughn, James Saunders and Mabel Hartford. Born, raised and educated in Fall River, she moved to Berkley in 1937. Recipient of the Berkley Citizen of the Year award in 1985, she was a member of Happy Hearts of Berkley, Friends of the Berkley Public Library and was a Berkley 4H Club leader for many years. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 7:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Bernard Church, Assonet, at 9:00 AM. Burial at Berkley Common Cemetery. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
