Margaret (Machado) Phenix

Margaret M. "Peggy" (Machado) Phenix, 98, of Barlow St., Fall River, wife of the late Robert Phenix (proprietor of Phenix Cleansers), died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She leaves 2 children, Russell Phenix and his wife Maureen of Somerset and Lucille Rockett of Fall River; grandchildren, Jason and Christopher Phenix, Kathryn Matos, Brigitte David and Robert and Nicholas Plante; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Elizabeth Matos, James Phenix, Emma Plante and Samara and Marcus David and nieces and nephews. She was also the daughter of the late Mary (Oliveira) and Manuel Machado Grillo and the sister of Hilda Araujo of RI and the late Manuel Grillo, Olive Cabral, Alice Paige, Mary Gallant and Irene Cabral. A former member of the Notre Dame Parish Women's Guild, she was a spinner at the Sagamore and King Philip Mills and at age 16 was the proud driver of a Model T Ford. She enjoyed playing cards, dining and dancing and cherished time spent with her family and friends. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 11:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, Tuesday morning prior to the funeral from 9:00 to 10:15 AM.
