Margaret (Rego) Couture

Margaret (Rego) Couture, 89, of Fenner St., Fall River, wife of the late Alban “Red" Couture, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

Margaret worked very hard as a seamstress to help provide for her family and was very skilled as well, making her own children's clothes at times. She was employed at ABC Garment for most of those years.

Margaret and Alban enjoyed years of ballroom dancing with all their friends for years every Saturday night. She enjoyed reading immensely and has probably read half the books at the South End branch library. She was an avid scrabble player with whom she enjoyed playing with her kids and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center to play cards with her friends. She loved her dog, Lily, who was always by her side.

She leaves behind three children, Stephen Couture (wife Susan) of RI and FL, Debra Couture of Fall River, and Lauren Enik (husband Mark) of Hawaii; grandchildren, Jessica, Robert, Elizabeth and David; great-grandchildren, Saige and Emily, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel S. Rego, Alvaro Rego, Jr., and John Rego, and the daughter of the late Alvaro S. and Louise N. (Medeiros) Rego.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 19th at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Cemetery.   PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS.  Please consider a memorial donation to The Bridge Academy, (a non-profit special needs school) 1958 B Lawrenceville Rd., Lawrenceville NJ 08648.
