Marcella (Medeiros) Jean

Marcella (Medeiros) Jean, 93, of Fall River, former wife of the late Captain Leon E. Jean and longtime companion of the late Arthur C. Mello, entered into rest Wednesday, March 2, 2016. A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1940, she earned an Associates Degree from the University of Rhode Island and was assistant librarian at the Fall River Public Library. She was a Life Member of the Fall River Brandeis Chapter and the Friends of the Fall River Public Library, a member of the Professional Women's Club and the Third Order of St. Dominic. She leaves three children, Edward A. Jean of Ballinger, TX, Sheila Jean Haskins and her husband James of Middletown, RI and Mary Elizabeth Silvia and her husband Richard of Swansea; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Marcella Jean and Paul E. Jean and the daughter of the late Joaquim and Julia (Silvia) Medeiros. Her funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Good Shepherd Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation, Monday morning prior to the funeral from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
