Manuel "Manny" Vasconcelles, 61, of John Dyer Road, Little Compton, formerly of Long Pasture Way, Tiverton, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at home.
He was the husband of Diane (Caron) Vasconcelles.
Born in Fall River, the son of Manuel Vasconcelles of Somerset and the late Catherine (Wilette) Vasconcelles, he lived in Tiverton for 27 years and in Little Compton for the past 6 years.
He was employed by Pepsi Cola in Mansfield, MA.
His hobbies included traveling and collecting milk bottles. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Little Compton. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronz Star Medal for meritorious achievement in groung operations against hostile forces in the Republic of Vietnam.
Besides his wife of 42 years and his father,
he is survived by 3 sisters, Patricia Kravetz of Mansfield, Kathleen St. Pierre of Somerset, and Margaret Charest of Swansea,
a brother, Rodney Pacheco of Somerset, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William "Billy" Vasconcelles.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 AM from AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 S. Main St. Fall River, with a Libera Service in St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 74 Simmons Rd., Little Compton, at 11:30 AM Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation Thursday prior to funeral, from 9 to 10:30 AM In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 502 Bedford St. Fall River, MA 02720. ***************************** A MEMORIAL MASS WILL BE CELEBRATED SUNDAY, APRIL 22, 2007 AT ST. CATHERINE'S CHURCH, LITTLE COMPTON, RI AT 8:00 AM.
