Manuel Ponte

Manuel Ponte, 98, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Saint Anne’s Hospital.

He was the husband of the late Maria (Carreiro) Ponte.

Born in Porto Formoso, St. Michael, Azores, Manuel was the son of Manuel Jacinto da Ponte and Maria Jose Bento.

He was employed by Foxboro Company and enjoyed fishing and Sunday family dinners.

He was the father of Norbina Sineiro (husband Daniel A. Sineiro), Grace Teixeira (husband Carlos B. Teixeira) and the late Jose R. Ponte;

The grandfather of Veronica Correia,Jack Teixeira,  Kevin Teixeira and the late Daniel Sineiro and Irene Sousa; The great-grandfather of Domenic and Noah Teixeira, Sydney and Gavin Correia, and Owen and Brody Gaspar; The brother of the late Conceição Ponte, Virginia Placido and the late Ilda Ponte,the late Altino Ponte, the late Eduino Ponte, the late Blamino Ponte, the late Leonilde Ponte and late  Almerinda Furtado.

He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 10, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

His Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church.

Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
