Manuel G. Pereira

Manuel G. Pereira, 67, formerly of Columbia St., Fall River, husband of Teresa (Carvalho) Pereira, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. A member of Local 610 Laborers Union, he was employed by M. Dematteo Construction Co. He was an avid soccer fan of the Fall River United and FC Sporting teams, and a member of Fall River Sports Club and Banda Mosteirense. Besides his wife he leaves 5 children, Cesar Pereira (wife Anna), Bernadette Pereira, Diane Pereira-Robinson (husband John), Christina Pereira, and Nancy Pereira, all of Fall River; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; siblings, Henrique Pereira of Dighton, Luzia Raposo of Fall River and José Pereira of Somerset; and nieces and nephews. Born in Feteiras, Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Açores, the son of the late Henrique and the late Maria (Goncalves) Pereira, and the brother of the late Joé�o Pereira, he served in the Portuguese Army. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 11:30 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery.
