Manuel J. Medeiros

Manuel J. “Lata” Medeiros,89, husband of the late Evangelina (Reis) Medeiros, of Fall River, passed into eternal rest Saturday, February 5, 2022.

Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jacinto and Maria (Almeida) Medeiros. He worked as a fisherman in the Azores and was a soldier in the Portuguese Army.

Manny enjoyed fishing and singing.  He was known as a great man who devoted his life to his family.  He was employed by High Pointe Paper Box for many years as an assembler.

A talented musician, Manny was a member of St. Cecilia Band Club and the former Acoreana Band Club.  He played the tuba and the baritone.
Manuel leaves two children, Ann Marie Anunciacao (husband Ricardo) of Fall River and Antonio M. "Tony" Medeiros (wife Janet) of Somerset; four grandchildren, Ricky Anunciacao, Justin Anunciacao, Antoino "Tony" Medeiros Jr. and Krystal Medeiros; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Anunciacao, Jadyn Anunciacao and Ethan Medeiros. He was the brother of the late Maria C. Branco.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S.Main St. Fall River.

His funeral will be held Friday at 9 AM from the funeral home,  with a Funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church at 10:00 A. M.   For the safety of those attending, wearing a mask is strongly encouraged. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery.
