Manuel F. Furtado

Manuel F. Furtado, 71, of County St., Fall River, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Agueda M. (Couto) Furtado. Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Jose Pacheco Furtado and the late Maria (Raposa) Furtado, he lived in Fall River most of his life. He was employed by Quaker Fabric Corp. for 20 years, retiring in 1999. Besides his wife of 44 years he is survived by a daughter, Aggie LaPlante and her husband Pete of Fall River; 3 sons, Jose Furtado, Antonio Furtado and his wife Lisa and Eduardo and his wife Tammy, all of Fall River; 9 grandchildren, Jeremy Mello, Justin LaPlante, Ashley, Emily, Antonio, Kaci, Eduardo and Victoria Furtado and Talisha Cookinham. He was the brother of the late Jose Raposo Furtado. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
