Manuel C. Amarelo

Manuel C. Amarelo, 81, of Fall River, husband of the late Clotilde C. (Lopes) Amarelo, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017. He was born in Arrifes, Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores.

He served in the Portuguese Army and was employed by Pioneer Finishing Co. He was an active member and volunteer, Eucharistic minister and choir member of the Good Shepherd Parish and the former Our Lady of the Angels Parish.

He leaves two sons, Gualter Amarelo and his wife Anna Medeiros and Paul Amarelo and his wife Christine, all of Fall River; four grandsons, Gualter Amarelo, Jr., Joshua Amarelo, Jacob Carvalho and Benjamin Carvalho; siblings, Vasco Amarelo of Canada and Maria de Lurdes Amarelo of St. Michael, Azores and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Joao Cordeiro Amarelo and the late Rosa (Morgado) Amarelo and the brother of the late Maria Fatima Amarelo.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Good Shepherd Church at 11:30 AM.

Visitation, Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven MA 02719.
