Madeline Desrosiers (Thorpe) Bessette

Madeline (Thorpe) Desrosiers Bessette, 69, of Old Bedford Rd., Westport, formerly of Fall River, wife of Arthur Bessette and daughter of Lillian (L'Hereux) Thorpe of Fall River and the late James Thorpe, died Sunday, June 12, 2011. She was a private care attendant for many years. Besides her husband and mother, she leaves three daughters, Diana Desrosiers, Sheila Stebenne, and Denise Dupras and her husband Shawn, all of Fall River; grandchildren, Joseph and Shanda Desrosiers, Angel M., Gineya, Angel A., and Paige Dupras; great-grandsons, Joseph Desrosiers and Bradley Mello; siblings, Lillian Paulo (husband Daniel) of Swansea, Anita Davis (husband Billy) of Florida, Joanne Mello (husband Joseph) of Westport, and James Thorpe (wife Lucille) and Gerald Thorpe all of Fall River. She was the former wife of the late Roger Desrosiers, and the grandmother of the late Shawn and Faith Dupras. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Tuesday, prior to the service from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
