Madeleine R. St. (Latessa) Pierre

Madeleine R. (Latessa) St. Pierre, 89, of Fall River, entered into rest on May 6, 2015. She was the widow of Roland L. St. Pierre; and the daughter of the late John S. and Marie Louise (Bessette) Latessa. She was the mother of Mrs. Rita (Gilles) Canuel; grandmother of Michael (Stephanie) Canuel and future great-grandson, and Michelle Canuel, (partner Derek Healy) all of Fall River; sister of Mrs. Jeanne Hedderson (late John) of Fall River; Mrs. Claire Andersen (James), formerly Theriault of Plymouth; John "Eddie" Latessa (Shirley) of San Ramon, CA; Roger Latessa (Doloris) of Newmarket, NH; and also of the late Andre Latessa (Lorraine). She leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins. Madeleine retired as an LPN from St. Anne's Hospital after 35 years. Her hobby was genealogy, and she was an active member of the American French Genealogical Society, American Canadian Genealogy Society, Francophone Society, St. Pierre Association of Canada and the Italian Genealogical Society. She loved her many trips to Canada. A lifelong member of Notre Dame Parish, now St. Bernadette, she volunteered for over 20 years in the rectory and was the former Record Keeper. She was also the 2004 recipient of the Marion Medal for Notre Dame Parish. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., with a funeral mass at St. Bernadette Church, Eastern Avenue, Fall River, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
