Lydia (Oliveira) Cordeiro

Lydia Maria (Oliveira) Cordeiro, 96, of Somerset, passed into eternal rest Friday, February 25, 2022 at Saint Anne’s Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Jesse Cordeiro, who was the love of her life.

Lydia worked as a floor lady for Louis Hand for 25 years.  After retiring, she and Jesse built several successful businesses including TJ Motor Lines, FR NB Express, C & M Leasing and J & L Trucking.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late William Oliveira and Leah (Marques) Oliveira. She leaves her daughter Leah Taber (husband Brian) and their children Lydia Dodson Camara (husband Charles), Nick Anthony Taber (wife Ali) and cherished family members Tony Luz and Jackie Luz.  She also leaves three stepdaughters, Dottie Lou Curry (husband Rob) and their children, Rob, Jay, Marybeth and Kathy; Joann Ryder and daughter Sarah; Susan Lima (husband Robert and their children Rob and Chris.  She cherished her times with her Golden Girls, Lee, Doris, Hilda and Rita.

She was the sister of the late Arthur Oliveira, Hilda Delgado, William Oliveira and Juliet Oliva.

Lydia was true to her nature and lived life on her terms. She lived independently until her passing and never regretted a moment of her life and would want her friends and family to do the same.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM  at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA.
