Luis M. Resendes

Luis M. Resendes, 85, of Fall River passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Urania (Pavao Trindade) Resendes.

Born in Agua Retorta, Povoacao, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Resendes and Adelina (Pereira Marques) Resendes and came to the United States in 1973.

He was employed for many years by Foxboro Company. Luis was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Holy Name Society and the Don Carlos Club. He enjoyed being a major  Benfica soccer fan. Aside from watching his team play, he enjoyed watching the Red Sox, TV classics such as the Three Stooges and Walker Texas Ranger, and westerns. If he wasn’t watching these shows, he was sitting in his chair listening to the radio or praying the rosary along with his wife. He had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Whether at a cookout or those intimate Sunday lunches, he was always happiest when surrounded by love. He also was happy to see his grandpups, Bimini and Cylus.

Besides his wife of 60  years, he leaves two daughters, Maria Neronha (husband Joseph) and Regina Feijo (husband Ronald) and was the father of the late Antonio Resendes (wife Teri); grandchildren, Jordan Feijo (wife Kasey), Nicole Jules (husband Onny), Kyle Neronha, Andrew Resendes, and Melanie Resendes; 3 great-grandchildren, (Abigail, Adah & Antonio James) a sister, Conceicao Casimiro (late husband Manuel) and was the brother of the late Antonio Resendes (wife Maria). Luis also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Thursday, June 8, from  4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

His funeral will be held Friday, June 9 at  9:00 A.M. from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Bedford St., at  10:00A.M.

Burial following at St. Patrick Cemetery.
