Luis's journey through life was marked not only by his dedication to family but also by his work as a laborer in various steel mills, a job he embraced with pride. His service to his country in the Portuguese Army for five years, during which he bravely fought in the Angolan and Mozambique Wars, reflected his unwavering commitment to his values and community.

A musician at heart, Luis was a master of many instruments, with a particular passion for the trumpet. For over 40 years, he played in several Portuguese marching bands, including the Banda da Nossa Senhore de Rosario Lagoa, Banda Acoreana, Banda da Nossa Senhora da Luz, and Filarmonica Santa Cecilia. His love for music brought joy not only to himself but to countless others who listened.

Luis cherished the moments spent with his family, especially during gatherings that filled the air with laughter and love. He found immense solace in tending to his grapevines, creating his own wine, and nurturing his garden, where he found peace amidst the beauty of nature. An avid fan of soccer, Luis took great joy in watching his favorite teams, Benfica and the Portugal National Team, showcasing his spirited passion for the game.

Luis is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Maria C. DosAnjos Botelho; his two sons, Paul C. Botelho and his wife Joyce of Fall River, and Emanuel C. Botelho and his wife Patricia of Westport and his daughter, Sandra Botelho, (late fiancé Dr. Daniel Freeman) of Fall River. He was a proud grandfather to Caleb Botelho, Tyler Botelho, Sydney Botelho, Matthew Botelho, Serena Moniz, and Logan Botelho who will all dearly miss him. He also leaves his brother, Fernando Botelho Medeiros of St. Michael, Azores and numerous nieces and nephews.
