Louis A. Ledoux

Louis A. Ledoux, 80, of Somerset, formerly of Fall River and Tiverton, husband of Jane L. (Turner) Ledoux, died Thursday, August 15, 2013. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War and computer scientist, he taught mathematics at BMC Durfee High School and was employed at the Naval Underwater Systems Center, Newport for many years, retiring in 1996. He was a longtime supporter of the Maplewood Babe Ruth League, the baseball field and division being named in his honor. He was a charter member of the Diman Regional Vocational High School Hall of Fame and was named "Man of the year" by the Greater Fall River Chamber of Commerce. He loved gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family and was a supporter of the Dominican Sisters Honduran Mission. Besides his wife of 59 years, he leaves five children, Louis "Butch" Ledoux, Jr. and his wife Lee of Fall River, Doreen Ledoux of So. Dartmouth, Gail Richotte of Fall River, David Ledoux of Somerset and Michelle Marcano and her husband Lalo of Johnston, RI; grandchildren, Matthew Ledoux, Ryan and Lauren Costa, Stephanie and Shela Richotte, Adam and Emma Ledoux and Isabella Marcano; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Cameron, Vasco, Nevaeh and Kiley; siblings, Adrienne Boisselle, Laurie Anne Bouchard, Roxanne Denise Banks and Diane Boucher, all of Somerset, and Jeannine Lambert of Providence; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Eugene and Bernadette (Noel) Ledoux and the brother of the late Lucille Barrett and Adrien, Leo and Marcel Ledoux. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Sunday from 3:00 to 7:000 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
