Louis "Gibby" Gibbons

Louis "Gibby" Gibbons, 70, of Sprague St., Fall River, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at Highlander Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was the husband of Nancy (Simard) Gibbons. Born in Somerset, the son of the late Georgiana (Oliveira) Gibbons, he lived in Fall River most of his life. He was employed by J & J Corrugated Box Co. and the Fall River School Department. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, country fairs and horse and tractor pulls. Besides his wife of 49 years, survivors include 2 daughters, Carrie Lebeau and her husband Michael of Tiverton and Lori Barboza and her companion Bret Pokorny of Wayne, Maine; 2 sisters, Mildred Cateon of Fall River and Mary Ann Mehlhorn of Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Stacia Barboza, Jason Theroux, Michael Lebeau and Ryan and Sarah Pokorny; a brother-in-law Robert Simard of Tiverton and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond Gibbons. His funeral was private. Visitation and flowers omitted. Donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 45 No. Main St., Fall River MA 02720.
