Loretta Smith

Loretta (Valcourt) Smith, 84, of 1748 Highland Ave. Fall River, formerly of 78 Mitchell Drive, died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Highlander Nursing Home, Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Florence (Valcourt) Harrop, she lived in Fall River most of her life. Mrs. Smith had been employed in the garment industry for many years and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, now know as UNITE. She is survived by 2 grandchildren, Bethany and Gabriel Kreiser, both of Long Island, New York, a great-grandson, Aidan McDermott, of Long Island, 2 brothers, George Harrop of Fall River and Raymond Harrop of Ohio, and nieces and nephews. She was the loving mother of the late Brenda Kreiser and the sister of the late Eileen Carlson and Frank Harrop. Private arrangements are with the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA .
