Lionel E. "Lee" Bedard, 79, of Tiverton, husband of Clarisse "Claire" (Bernier) Bedard and son of the late Leo and Yvonne (Pelletier) Bedard, died Monday, September 8, 2008. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Chief Petty Officer Bedard served in the Navy Seabees Reserve for 30 years. A construction mechanic, he was employed by J.F. White Contracting Co., Stoughton. A former director of the St. Madeleine-SJB Credit Union, he was a member of the Order of Alhambra, Royal Travelers, Acushnet Jolly Seniors and Local #4, International Union of Operating Engineers. Besides his wife of 53 years he leaves 2 sons, Ronald Bedard of Tiverton and Richard Bedard and his wife Carol of Fall River; grandchildren, Mitchell, Cory, Dylan and Paul; sisters, Pierette "Petey" Paquette of Warren, RI and Cecile Paquette of Tiverton and nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Theresa Church, Tiverton at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
