Leonard “Lenny” M. Oliveira, Jr. left this earth peacefully at home surrounded by love on August 6.
Born in Fall River, on November 11, 1966, he was the son of Leonard and Natalie Oliveira and the father
of Lauren Ann Oliveira.
Lenny was an autobody collision technician and most recently the automotive repair technology
manager at Empire Collision Center in Swansea. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, motorcycles, and
speedboats. He lived for body building, summers tanning at the beach, fishing and clam digging. He was
an excellent cook and honored his Portuguese heritage by making chourico from scratch and baking
sweetbread.
Not one for attention, Lenny performed many acts of kindness anonymously that included paying utility
and grocery bills for loved ones in need and visiting homeless tent cities to feed and clothe the
residents.
In the last few years of his life, with his fiancée Alda Almeida by his side, he was able to conquer his fear
of flying and enjoyed several vacations that included the Azores, Florida, and a cruise.
Lenny loved his family and visited his parents daily. He was always available to fix a broken down car for
his sisters and always made it a point to check in on how everyone was doing. He had an infectious smile
with adorable dimples and could fill a room with laugher from his stories. He also treasured his fur
babies, especially his dog Bailey .
In addition to his parents, fiancée, and daughter, Lenny is survived by his sisters Anne-Marie (Matthew)
Zenni, Mary (Thierry) Gustave, and Christine (Craig) Force. Nephews Timothy and Cedrick and nieces
Miranda and Madison, and Alda’s children, Dimas and Austen and grandson Cowen.
Most of all Lenny cherished his relationship with the Lord, when dressed up, he always wore a cross to
ground him in his faith.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that an act of kindness be performed in
his memory.
