Leo G. Melanson, 66, of Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of Fall River and Seekonk, a highly regarded and respected professional auctioneer and antique appraiser, husband of the late Beverly A. (Gamson) Melanson, died June 17, 2009. The recipient of the Lions Club's highest form of recognition, the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, he was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, past-president of the Fall River Jaycees and Master of Ceremonies of the Miss Fall River Pageant for many years. He leaves his companion Pauline (Moran) Brown; a son, Keith J. Melanson and his wife Adriana (DaSilva) of Boca Raton, FL; 3 grandchildren, Maxx, Ava and Sophia Melanson and siblings, Jeanne Lavigne of Midland, CT and Roger Melanson of Westport, MA. He was the son of the late Henri and Irene (Audet) Melanson. Following cremation at memorial mass will be held Wednesday, July 1, at 11:00 AM in Holy Name Church, Fall River, immediately followed by a graveside service in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation and flowers omitted. Donations to Florida Lions Camp, 2819 Tiger Lake Rd., Lake Wales FL 33853 would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME.
