Leo E. Marchand, 85, of Assonet, formerly of Fall River, husband of Therese G. (Gendreau) Cadrin Marchand, died Saturday, July 2, 2011. He was a typewriter technician employed by Cadrin's Office Machine Co. and Gray's Business Equipment, retiring in 1994. A member of the Royal Travelers, he was a former communicant of Notre Dame Parish. Besides his wife of 27 years, he leaves two stepchildren, Paul Cadrin and his wife Maxine of Somerset and Jeanne Morrissette and her husband Fall River Deputy Chief of Police J. Alfred Morrissette of Assonet; three grandchildren, Adam A. Cadrin, of Somerset, MA, Dr. Kimberly Morrissette and her husband Dr. Patrick Solari of Seattle, WA and Brock A. Morrissette and his wife Marta of East Freetown, MA and one niece, Janice Guenette of CA. Leo was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and the New York Yankees and listening to music. He most enjoyed time spent with his family and "Mia" the Jack Russell. He was the son of the late Henri and Diana (Proulx) Marchand and the brother of the late Gertrude Cook, Ida, Philippe and Henriette Marchand. Leo donated his remains to Brown University School of Medicine. To celebrate his life, a memorial mass will be held Saturday, July 23, at 12 noon in St. Bernard Church, 30 South Main Street, Assonet MA In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory appreciated to the MA Commission of the Blind,48 Boylston Street, Boston MA 02116 or The Alzheimer's Assn, 311 Arsenal Street Watertown, MA 02472.
