Leo A. Doucette

Leo A. Doucette, 94, of South Beach St., Fall River, formerly of East Main St., husband of the late Martha (Brisson) Doucette, died Friday, October 2, 2009. An Army Air Force veteran of WW II, he also served in the National Guard and the State Guard. A member of Steelworkers Union, Local 4543, he was employed by Pepperell Mills, Fall River and Winnisimet Dairy and Carol Cable, RI. He enjoyed hunting, bingo and visiting Foxwoods Casino. He leaves 2 daughters, Lorraine King and Paulette Prefontaine (widow of Jean Prefontaine), both of Fall River; 8 grandchildren, William King, Deborah Arruda, Darlene Cordeiro, Donna Peoples, Norma Brophy, Diane Forand, Bridget Durfee and Claudine O'Donnell; 19 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Lavoie of FL, and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Israel Doucette and Georgianna (Bedard) Doucette Deschenes and the brother of the late Romeo, Sylvio "Pete" and Israel "Bill" Doucette, Marie Louise Fontaine, Rose Brilliant, Medora Belanger, Lauria Duperre, Mathilda Hebert, Alida Briere and Valeda Langlois. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701 appreciated.
