Lawrence G. "Larry" Wylie, 75, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
A decorated Veteran of the US Navy for 25 years, he was a member of the VFW and Bristol Veterans Association. He joined the Navy in 1960, serving on the USS Intrepid and many other ships, until finally serving on the USS Midway. After that, he retired in 1985 in Newport, RI from the Surface Warfare Officers School Command. He was a lifetime member of the USS Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York and liked playing computer games and watching TV, especially the History Channel.
He leaves two grandchildren, Corbin Wylie of New Bedford and Dominique Wylie of Japan; a daughter-in-law, Christine Wylie of New Bedford; four siblings, Robert Wylie and his wife Debbie of Pennsylvania, Barbara Busynan of Texas, Raymond Wylie and his wife Carol of Australia and Michael Wylie and his wife Sharon of Mississippi; his former wife, June (McCoy) Wylie of Somerset and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Mark Wylie, the son of the late George G. and Lois (Ready) Wylie.
A visitation will be held Monday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a burial to follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Online guest book at AuclairFuneralHome.com.
