Lawrence M. Silva

Lawrence M. Silva, 84, of Fall River, husband of the late Irene M. "Sue" Silva, died Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was employed by Naval Underwater Warfare Center, Newport, RI. A volunteer for AARP Tax Program at Government Center and Citizens For Citizens, he also volunteered as a tutor for the Adult Basic Education Program at B.C.C. He served in the National Guard. Known for his joke telling, he enjoyed watching his grandsons hockey games and his daily trips to Sip 'n Dip for coffee and socializing. Survivors include 7 children, Deborah Cote (husband Robert), Lawrence Silva (wife Donna), Raymond Silva (wife Michelle), Susan Delisle (husband Donald), Steven Silva (wife Donna), Joseph Silva (wife Cathy) and Sandra Resendes (husband Kelly); 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Stacey Silva, the brother of the late Joseph M. Silvia, John Silva, Jr. and Mary Rodrigues and the son of the late Joao deMedeiros and Maria (Mello) Silva. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St. Fall River, with a funeral mass at Good Shepherd Church, at 10:00 a.m. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Large parking area and barrier free entrance to rear of funeral home.
