Lauretta Y. (Gagnon) Blanchette, 100, of the Fall River Jewish Home, formerly of Barnes St. and Barlow St., widow of Henri R. Blanchette, died Saturday, July 21, 2007.
A member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of Notre Dame Parish, she was employed by Kerr Thread, Standard Coil and Lamport Mfg. and enjoyed bingo, crocheting, reading and quilting. She leaves 2 daughters, Pauline Duarte and her husband Chris of Somerset and Janine Lopes of Fall River, 17 grandchildren, (the Pettines: Edward, Thomas, Anne Marie, Linda and Michael), (the Blanchettes: Diane, Denise, Suzanne and Robert), (the Duartes: Michelle, Paul, Christopher, Lisa and Aimee) and (the Lopes: Renee, Andrea and Claudine), 39 great-grandchildren, a sister, Delores Bazinet of Missouri and nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Laforge) Gagnon, the mother of the late Mrs. Edward "Ted" (Constance) Pettine and Maurice "Moe" Blanchette and the sister of the late Hildebert Gagnon, Anna Doyle and Eugenie Long.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. PORTICO, LARGE PARKING AREA BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
