Kenneth J. Baker, 92, of Somerset, husband of 60 years of the late Eileen M. (Burns) Baker, entered into rest , Monday, December 22, 2014. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1940, Sergeant Baker served with the 9th Army Air Forces in the European Theatre of Operations for 27 months in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland, earning 3 campaign ribbons with 2 Battle Stars. His unit was also awarded the Presidential Unit Citation Award. He was employed by The Prudential Ins. Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1982, receiving the Distinguished Professional Service Award in 1976 at a Florida Convention, where he was a guest speaker. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3669, Swansea and was also a member of the Golfing and Bowling League for many years. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Patricia Orabona of Fall River. He was the son of the late William & Delia (Allard) Baker and the brother of the late Edith Borges, and Charles and Earl Baker. His funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Moore Church, Somerset. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation and flowers omitted. Donations may be made to Salvation Army, 290 Bedford St., Fall River MA 02720. Funeral arrangements entrusted to AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME.
