Kaye Ronick Godfrey, 88, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Bristol, RI, died peacefully on August 11, 2010. She was the wife of the late John A. Godfrey and the late Harold L. Ronick. She with her husband, John, co-founded Peck Rock Premiums which created and sold toys that went into cereal boxes. Born in Macon, Georgia, she was the daughter of Charles B. and Katherine (Faires) Wray of Cedartown, Georgia and attended Westhampton College at the University of Richmond where her father was a professor. After leaving school to serve in the Navy, she married and moved to Richmond, Virginia where she raised her family. She was later awarded an honorary degree. She remarried in 1968, moving to Bristol, RI and traveled extensively. She retired to Venice, Florida where she greatly enjoyed making collages for which she received many awards, reading mysteries, watching the national politics, decorating, bird watching and going out to lunch with friends. She was especially revered for her wonderful, wry humor, blunt frankness and abundant generosity. She was the mother of Jennie R. Elias (husband John) of Westport, MA, Katherine "Kit" Ronick Waite (husband Keith) of Bristol, RI. and the late David L. Ronick (wife Holly) of Stonington, CT. Her grandchildren are Jessica and Caitlin Elias, David and Charles Coop and Steven and Abigail Waite and extended family, Thomas Peacock , Charles Kane and Lisa Sienkiewicz.
