Katherine G. (Robertson) Gorton Lavoie, 94, formerly of Fall River, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center, Somerset. She was the widow of Thomas S. Gorton and Raymond J. Lavoie; the mother of the late Thomas and Kathleen Gorton and the daughter of the late John J. Robertson and Margaret M. (Lowney) Robertson Kelly. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church and past-president of the Fall River Emblem Club # 29, she was employed by Cherry & Webb. She leaves a daughter Judith G. Alves and her husband Manuel of Swansea; grandchildren, Deborah Lewis, Christopher and David Alves and Bethany Ruggiero; great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Madeleine and Constance Lavoie, both of Taunton, Raymond Lavoie of Deerfield Beach, FL and Susan Conway of Lakeville and step-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church at 9:00 AM. Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen, 160 Seabury St., Fall River MA 02720. Additionally, a committal service will be held Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
