Joyce C. (Bussiere) Szelag

Joyce C. (Bussiere) Szelag, 80, of Lassonde St., Westport, MA, widow of Walter Szelag,and daughter of the late Arthur R. and Jeannette (Barnaby) Bussiere, died unexpectedly, Saturday, February 19, 2011.
A graduate of the former Thibodeau Business College, she was employed by Flint Business Service and Blu-Belle Knitting Mills. She was a member of the Westport Senior Center and a former member of the Ms Senior Sweetheart Pageant Committee.
She leaves two daughters, Lori A. Ethier and her husband Peter and Carol McCarthy and her husband David; a granddaughter, "the light of her life" Shannon McCarthy; and a brother-in-law, Thaddeus Szelag, all of Westport; a sister-in-law, Joan Szelag; and nephews, Matthew and Thomas Szelag, all of Fall River; cousins, including a "sister" Mildred Sevigny of Westport; and many friends.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Senior Social", Westport Council on Aging, 75 Reed Rd., Westport MA 02790.
