Joseph F. O'Connell

Joseph F. O'Connell, 75 of Fall River died on October 4, 2011. He leaves behind wife Mary (Oliveira) O'Connell and son Michael O'Connell both of Fall River, as well as daughter Jennifer (O'Connell) Halvorsen-Costa, beloved grandson Dylan Halvorsen, and son-in-law Victor Costa of Bourne. He was son of the late Joseph O'Connell and Eileen (Carroll) O'Connell. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was born and raised in the Corky Row, raised his family and spent his final years living in Maplewood. He was a graduate of Durfee's Class of 1955, and was a career salesman in the mobile auto insurance industry. As a lifetime member of the Thomas Chew Boys Club, he enjoyed playing handball into his seventies. A Service of "Memories & Music" will be held at the Seamen's Bethel Chapel on 15 Johnny Cake Hill in New Bedford on Saturday October 15th at 3pm.
