Joseph M. "Joe" Medeiros

Joseph M. “Joe” Medeiros, 61, of Somerset, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022.  Joe was born in Capelas, St.Michael, Azores.

He was employed by J. Derenzo Co. for many years and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 4.

Joe had a heart of gold and was known as a “gentle giant” with a kind soul.

His hobbies included fishing, boating and watching the Red Sox and the Patriots.

He leaves his beloved wife and soulmate, Beth A. (Tavares) Medeiros;

three children, Melissa Medeiros, Allison Medeiros and Ryan Gendreau;

a mother-in-law, Carolee Tavares; five siblings, Filomena Costa (husband Tony, who was also Joe’s fishing buddy), Natalia Medeiros, Peter Medeiros (wife Grace), William Medeiros and Anthony Medeiros (wife Natalie); many many nieces and nephews who adored him.

Joe was the son of the late Jose R. Medeiros and Maria C. (Miranda) Medeiros and the brother of the late Terezinha Medeiros.

His visitation will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. at  the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.

His Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Rd. Westport, at 11:00 AM

Burial will be private.
