Joseph L. "Joe" Martin

Joseph L. "Joe" Martin, 70, of Fall River passed away Monday, January 9, 2017.

He was a former employee of the Fall River Water Department and was an avid card player and member of the VFW Pitch League.

He leaves his former wife and soul mate, Denise R. (Mello) Martin of Fall River; five children, Joseph D. Martin of Fall River, Dawn Rusin and her husband Ron of Fall River, Darlene Marie Pacheco and her husband Rodney A. of Somerset, Gail Vital and her husband Kevin of Swansea and Carrieann Gomes and her finacé Michael Miguel of Fall River; grandchildren, Edward Laferriere, Brian Laferriere, PFC Rodney A. Pacheco, Jr., US Army, Res., Steven Gomes, Meagan M. Pacheco, PFC Cassidy Gomes, US Army, Patryce Vital and Gavin Vital; siblings, William Martin, James Martin (Elaine) and Donna Martin (Robert Levesque), all of Fall River; his former sons-in-law, Edward Laferriere, John Azarian and Jeff Gomes; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Cabral) Martin and the brother of the late David Martin.

His funeral service will be held at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Thursday evening at 8:00 PM.

Visitation, Thursday prior to the service from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. Donations may be made to Boys and Girls Club of Fall River, 803 Bedford St., Fall River MA 02723.
