Joseph Eddy Labrecque

Joseph Eddy Labrecque, 88, of Borden Place East, 111 Borden St., Fall River, died Thursday at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of Jeanne D. (Gagnon) Labrecque. Born in Swansea, the son of the late Amedee and Leda (Chagnon) Labrecque, he lived in New Jersey for 31 years and in Fall River most of his life. He was employed by Stauffer Chemical Co. Yardville, New Jersey for many years. An Army veteran of WW II, he was a life member of Post 39, Disabled American Veterans and Post 26, American Legion, Bordentown, New Jersey. Besides his wife of 61 years, he is survived by a son, Roland G. Labrecque and his wife Mary of Clearwater, Florida; a brother, Joseph Andre Labrecque of Newington, Connecticut; 4 sisters, Rita Demers of Long Beach, California, Agnella Walworth of Largo, Florida, Alice Benoit Bishop of Fall River and Claire Chapman Coutu of Ocala, Florida; 3 grandsons, Edward, Michael and Stephen Labrecque; 2 great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Labrecque and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edmond and Joseph-Albert Labrecque. Following cremation, a memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 26, in St. Mary Cathedral at 11:00 AM. Visitation and flowers omitted. Donations may be made to Veterans Outreach, 755 Pine St., Fall River MA 02720.
