Joseph E. "Toby" Johnson

Joseph E. "Toby" Johnson, 76, of Whipple St., Fall River, husband of Claire (Gagnon) Johnson, died Sunday, August 29, 2010. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was employed by Arkwright Finishing Co. for 27 years and by Priority Finishing and Tremblay Bus Co. A loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan, he enjoyed bicycling. Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves 3 children, Beverly Poitras (Rick) of Little Compton, Jeffrey E. Johnson (Mary) of Datona Beach, FL and Darlene Almeida (Wayne McAlister) of Fall River; 6 grandchildren, Rhonda Almeida, Brent Poitras, Brendon Johnson, Evan Poitras, Chad McAlister and Allison Johnson; 2 great-granddaughters, Kaleigh Almeida and Autumn McAlister; a sister, Joan Hampton of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Robert E. and Anna (Harrington) Johnson and the brother of the late Barbara Oliveira. His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Trinity Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
