Joseph E. Jean, 89, of McCloskey St., Fall River, died Sunday, October 31, 2010. An Army veteran of WW II and alumnus of Msgr. Prevost HS and BMC Durfee HS, he was a Fall River School Department custodian at the Watson School for many years and then a courier for Slade's Ferry Bank. He was a member of Post 486, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Choir and Holy Name Society of Notre Dame Parish and Chairman of the Notre Dame Credit Union Supervisory Committee. He was the husband of 59 years of Marion T. (Kenney) Jean: the father of the late Joseph R. Jean; the grandfather of Alexander P. Jean; the father-in-law of Dorothy Sutter; the "grandfather" of Clifford and Ava Sutter; the son of the late Joseph and Emelia (Gosselin) Jean; the brother of the late Edward Jean, Claudette Terceira, Dora Lavoie and Laurena Leger; the brother-in-law of Mildred and Arthur Laflamme and William and Gabrielle Kenney; and also leaves nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
