Joseph A. Fontaine

Joseph A. Fontaine, 95, formerly of Westport, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was the husband of the late Cecile B. (Bernier) Fontaine.

Born in Fall River, Joseph was the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Levitre) Fontaine.

Before retiring from Morse Shoe and C. Male, where he worked for many years, he enjoyed traveling to Florida, going for walks, and music.

He is predeceased by his children, Donald A. Fontaine and Diane Melanson (late husband Gregory).

He leaves a daughter, Denise (Fontaine) Goulart (husband Francis) of Raynham, MA; his sibling, Joan Marques of Westport, MA; and nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Rhea Proulx and Russel F. Fontaine.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.

His funeral will be held Friday, March 15, at 9:45AM from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, at 11:00AM. Entombment at Notre Dame Cemetery.
