Joseph R. Flanagan

Joseph R. "Amvet Joe" Flanagan, 86, of Somerset passed away on October 14, 2023. Joe was the son of the late Joseph R. and Belinda C. (Merola) Flanagan. Joe worked for Kaiser Aluminum in RI, and Tulip Paint in N. Dighton.

He enjoyed walking at the Swansea Mall and dining out.

He was a fan of Elvis Presley. He served in the Army Reserve and was a life member of the Amvets Post 72, and also the American Legion, both in Somerset.

He is survived by his siblings, Theresa Haley and Randall Flanagan (wife Kathleen); nephew Jason Haley, niece Nina Haley Reed (husband Kyle), nephew Scott Flanagan (wife Sharon); great niece Lexi Bella Flanagan, great nephew Riley Flanagan and great nephew Karson Reed.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 18, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 9:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL  HOME, 690 So. main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church., Swansea, at 11:00 AM.

Cremation to follow.  Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
