Joseph F. Dennis

Joseph F. Dennis, 83, of Nicholas W. Mitchell Heights, 2100 So. Main St., Fall River, died Monday, August 7, 2006. He was the husband of Edna (Purcell) Dennis. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (McGuire) Dennis, he lived in Fall River most of his life and in Boston for 22 years. A finance auditor, educated at Sacred Heart School, Fall River, Msgr. Coyle High School, Taunton and Boston University, he was employed by American Motors, Inc., Boston and Borg-Warner Corp., Chicago. An Army veteran of WW II and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he served with the 148th. Armored Signal Company in Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He enjoyed reading and sports. Besides his wife, survivors include 2 stepdaughters, Kathleen Arruda of Westport and Mary Ellen Montville of Ireland and a stepson, Richard Murphy of Bristol, RI. A funeral service will be held Friday at 12:00 noon in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Friday morning prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home.
