Joseph F. Cyr

Joseph F. Cyr, 80, of Swansea, husband of Rita (Martin) Cyr, died Thursday, July 23, 2009. He was employed by the Fall River Herald News for 47 years and was former Scoutmaster of Troop 40, Boy Scouts, Swansea. Besides his wife of 39 years, he leaves a son, Joseph Michael Cyr and his wife Michelle of Fall River; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Silveira and her husband Manuel, Claire Machado and her husband Edmond and Claudette Martin; a brother-in-law Raymond Martin and his wife Patricia and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (McDonough) Cyr and the brother of the late Terese Marie Gamache, James Cyr and Jerome Cyr. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Gardner's Neck Rd., Swansea at 10:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
