Joseph M. Bernat

Joseph M. Bernat, 87, of Fall River, husband of Rita E. (Singster) Bernat, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at Kindred-Highlander Nursing Center. A BMC Durfee High School graduate, Army veteran of WW II, and Bronze Star Medal recipient, he was a self-employed general contractor and also operated Ted's Mobile. Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves a daughter, Colleen L. Bernat Polselli and her husband Gene of Fall River; 2 sisters, Stasia Koscielny and Jane Nowacki, both of Fall River; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Ludwik and Victoria (Swies) Bernat and the brother of the late Chester and Theodore Bernat. His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Visitation, Wednesday morning prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
