Joseph H. Belanger, 79, of Somerset and Apollo Beach, Florida, husband of Vivian (Vadenais) Belanger, entered into rest surrounded by his family, Friday, September 11, 2015, at St. Anne's Hospital. A graduate of Msgr. Prevost High School, Class of 1953 and Assumption College, Class of 1957, he received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Boston College in 1971 and was Human Resources Manager for the Raytheon Company for 37 years. A Vietnam War Veteran, Lieutenant Colonel Belanger served in the Army and the Massachusetts Army National Guard for 38 years. A Marian Medal recipient, Lector and Royal Century Club Captain and Treasurer, he was a member of St. Louis de France Parish, Swansea and St. Anne Parish, Ruskin, Florida. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a caller and member of the Over the Hill Gang and past-president of the former St. Louis de France Credit Union. Besides his wife of 45 years, he leaves three children, Marc F. Belanger of Hillsborough, NH, Michelle A. Van Meter and her husband Timothy of Mechanicsville, VA and Stephen J. Belanger of League City, TX; grandchildren, Brady, Colby, Reed and Maggy Belanger and Nathaniel, Abigail and Emma Van Meter; and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alfred "Francis" Belanger and the son of the late Henry and Delia (Breault) Belanger. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Louis de France Church, Swansea at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to Abigail M.
