Joseph S. "Joe" Amorin, 84, of Somerset, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Born on September 29, 1940, Joseph led a life that was both vibrant and meaningful, leaving behind a legacy kindness and warmth that touched the hearts of many. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline "Jackie" A. (Mooney) Amorin, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Joseph was the son of Joseph S. and Thereza (Carreiro) Amorin.
A United States Army Veteran, Joseph dedicated his career to Duro Finishing for many years. There he was known not only for his hard work but also for his lively spirit and great sense of humor. He always had a crazy story to share, often bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Friends and family alike cherished his fun, loving, and warmhearted nature. Joseph was a man who never judged others, making him a cherished companion in every gathering.
An avid fisherman, Joseph found great pleasure in spending time on the water. He was proud to be a member of the King Phillip Yacht Club and the St. Johns Fishing Club, where he shared his passion with fellow enthusiasts. Even off the water, he took pride in the little things, such as meticulously cutting his grass, which reflected his appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Besides his wife, Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph Amorin (husband Jay), John Amorin (wife Brenda), Richard, and Jeffery; He was the Papa to his loving grandchildren, including Desiree Duponte, Karissa Duponte, and Kalli Duponte, who brought him immense joy. Joseph is preceded in death by his son, Michael Amorin, and siblings, Elizabeth Amorin and Edward Amorin. Their memories will remain close to the hearts of those who loved him.
His visitation will be held Friday, December 20, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St, Fall River. His funeral service with military honors will take place at 5:30 P.M.
