Joseph "Joe" Almeida

Joseph "Joe" Almeida, 68, of Tiverton, formerly of Bristol, husband of Joanne (Monti) Almeida, entered into rest, Saturday, November 7, 2015. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a machinist in the textile industry, he was a member of the New Bedford Pigeon Flyer Club and past-member of the North Tiverton, Fall River and Rhode Island pigeon Clubs. Besides his wife of 48 years, he leaves, four children, Kristen Arruda and her husband Nelson of Tiverton, Michael Almeida and his wife Dorothy of West Warwick, Christopher Almeida and his wife Eleanor and Brian Almeida and his wife Sarah, all of Fall River; grandchildren, Joshua Almeida, Aaron Levesque, Jenna Resendes, Avery Almeida, Jacob Arruda, Cadence Almeida and Noah Almeida; siblings, Manuel Almeida, Jr. of Bristol and Hilda Alexandre of Rehoboth; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Manuel and Hilda (Cordeiro) Almeida and the brother of the late Thomas Almeida. Following cremation, his funeral service will be held at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Saturday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
