Jose M. Valerio

Jose M. Valerio, 69, of Fall River, husband of Ana M. (Mota) Valerio, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 following a courageous battle with lung cancer. A former employee of Star Plating Co., New Bedford, he was a member of Banda Filarmonica Santa Cecilia. He was an avid fan of Benfica Soccer, enjoyed winemaking, gardening and spending time with his granddaughters and family. Besides his wife of 43 years he leaves a son, Steve Valerio and his wife Marta and granddaughters, Julia and Bella Valerio, all of Fall River; siblings, Lucrecia Dutra of Tiverton, John, Mario and Maria Valerio, all of Rhode Island and Connie Herman of Jacksonville, FL and nieces and nephews. Born in Ribeira Grande, Sé�o Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio and Olivia (Pinto) Valerio and the brother of the late Margaret Torres. His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Anne Shrine at 9:00 a.m. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
