Jose M. Tavares

Jose M. Tavares, 65, of Fall River, passed away at home with his family by his side on Friday, August 11, 2023.

He was the companion of Lucy Branco.

Born in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, Azores, Jose was the son of the late Jose and Maria Dos Anjos (Medeiros) Tavares.

A textile worker, Jose was employed by Quaker Fabric and Pioneer Finishing. He enjoyed fishing, friends and Benfica.

Besides his companion, Jose leaves two children, Ashley Tavares (companion Jason Fontaine) and Alex Tavares (companion Ashley Souza);

Two grandsons, Reign Fontaine and Aiden Tavares; three siblings, Joao Tavares, Maria Leonor Costa (husband Jose M. Costa) and Maria Luisa DaCosta (husband Duarte DaCosta)

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 15 from 5 PM to  8 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 16 at 9:00 AM from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Church, South Main St., at 10:00 AM.

Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
