Jose J. Demelo

Jose J. DeMelo, 89, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. He was the husband of the late Maria Georgina (Branco) DeMelo.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Agostinho Pacheco and Hinorinda (Pacheco) DeMelo.

Jose was employed in the construction industry with Local 610. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren; they always put a smile on his face. He also enjoyed making his own wine and taking care of his vineyard.

Jose is survived by his children, Emanuel DeMelo, Maria Luciano, and Lucy Pimentel; grandchildren, Kyle DeMelo, Ashley Medeiros, Korey DeMelo, Shana Luciano, Kelsey Pimentel, Jonathan Pimentel, and Jamie Luciano; great grandsons, Blake Medeiros, Logan Medeiros, Greyson Rodriques, and Maverick Rodriques; and his siblings, Agusto DeMelo, Virgino DeMelo, Cecilia Carvalho, Filomena Santos, and Carlos DeMelo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Fatima Picaro.

His visitation will be held in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, on Wednesday, December 27, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 28, at 9:00AM, in the Auclair Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St. at 10:00AM. Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
