Jose da Costa, 77, of Dwelly St., Fall River, formerly of Ponta Garca, St. Michael, Azores, husband of Ernestina (Pacheco) da Costa, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
He was employed by Pioneer Finishing and was a member of Santo Christo Senior Citizens Club.
Besides his wife of 50 years he leaves 5 children, Ana M. Freire (husband Fernando) of Berkley, Jose M. Costa (wife Leonor), Joao G. Costa (wife Heather), Duarte da Costa (wife Luisa) and Maria Fernandes (husband Emmanuel) all of Fall River; siblings, Maria Ana Achadinha and Maria Conceicoa Carneiro, both of Fall River, Antonio Costa of East Providence, Duarte da Costa of Acushnet and Joao Roias da Costa of St. Michael, Azores; 9 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Joao and Ana (Roias) da Costa and the brother of the late Cotilde Freitas, Manuel Costa and Maria Rosa Carneiro.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a service in Good Shepherd Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation, Thursday 5:00 to 9:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA AND BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
