Jose M. Bernardo

Jose M. Bernardo, 68, of Fall River, passed into eternal life Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Saint Anne’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Zulmira (Pacheco) Bernardo.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Alvarinho Bernardo and Maria Fernanda (Fernandes) Bernardo, he had served in the Portuguese Army.  He came to the United States in 1978.  Here, he was employed by Allied Waste Services.  His hobbies included watching TV, especially New England sports teams and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his daughter, Sonya Rodrigues and her husband Nelson; two grandsons, Aiden and Bryce Rodrigues; siblings, Maria de Fátima F. Bernardo, Maria Inês Bernardo,Maria Margarida F. Bernardo, Fernando F. Bernardo, Carlos Alberto F.  Bernardo, Henrique F.  Bernardo, Zélia F. Bernardo, Isabel F. Bernardo and was the brother of the late Paulo Jorge Fernandes Bernardo.
