Jose E. Barbosa

Jose E. Barbosa, 76, of Fall River, husband of
Trindade D. (Travassos) Barbosa, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017.

He served in the Portuguese Army and was employed by Balfour Jewelry, Attleboro. He was an avid Benfica fan and enjoyed tending to his grapevines, wine making and fishing.

Besides his wife of 51 years, he leaves two sons, Miguel Barbosa and his wife Leesa of Tiverton and Jose Barbosa, FRPD and his wife Claudia of Fall River; grandchildren, Lindsey, Sherrilyn, Celeste and Mykenzie Barbosa; siblings, Fernando Barbosa of Tiverton and Estrela Cabral, Manuela Sardinha and Leonor Medeiros, all of Fall River and nieces and nephews. Born in Fenais da Ajuda, St Michael Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel T. and Maria C. (Medeiros) Barbosa and the brother of the late Margarida Silva.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Good Shepherd Church at 10:00 AM. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery.

Visitation, Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham MA 02452.
